Introducing... Our New Garden Centre on Manchester Road!
Some of our customers may already know that we’ve been planning a new and exciting move of our garden centre in Prescot for a little while now!
Our historic site and café that is over 100 years old, will be relocating to a new, purpose-built site, which luckily, is just over half a mile from our original location on Liverpool Road.
If you live in the local area, you may have spotted that work is well underway at the new site, and we’re expecting to open our brand-new doors in Spring next year. We can’t wait to show you the amazing garden centre we’re planning for you. We know you’re going to absolutely love it!
All You Need To Know About The New Whitakers Garden Centre
Why we’re moving
Our existing site is going to be transformed into new homes for local people in Prescot, and this has meant we’ve been able to give Whitakers a good refresh.
The new Prescot garden centre is just down the road from the location that many of you are used to, so it’s still easy enough to travel to. You can expect a mix of old and new here, it will be a completely modernised shopping experience but with the same great value and lovely garden goods you’re used to.
We want you to have the very best time when you come to visit Whitakers, and this is what we are building over at Manchester Road.
What will happen to the Liverpool Road site?
The current garden centre in Prescot will remain open until the beginning of 2023, and until then our creative, friendly, and knowledgeable team members will continue to provide our customers with all that they need to create their perfect home and garden.
You can expect the same friendly service you’re familiar with! Currently, we’re gearing up for a busy Halloween and Christmas season. Our home delivery and click & collect services will also remain completely operational.
What’s the new garden centre in Prescot like?
Our brand-new contemporary premises will offer you a good dose retail space which will stock our full range of favourites including outdoor plants, house plants, garden furniture and equipment as well as a wide range of accessories. Alongside all of this, there will be an all new bigger café and restaurant for customers, giving you the chance to relax with an all-encompassing collection of tasty hot and cold meals and drinks.
Who will work there?
Our new centre will retain the same team known and loved by you, our customers. They make Whitakers after all and are the experts in all things gardens and landscaping. From the first day we open, our staff members will be on hand to offer any specialist advice you might need, or can tell you all about our new site if you’d like to find out more about our move!

So, from now until then, we’ll be aiming to keep you as updated as possible as we complete the build of our new site and prepare to move.
